phalaenopsis leaf damage

Question
Dear Expert, my beautiful Phalaenopsis was hit in a boisterous game the kids played and fell off a table. Pot broken and 2 leaves split in half, one of which a very recent one. Do I cut the leaves off or leave them on, the (cut) spike is still intact and before this accident the plant did very well indeed, so I am keen to rescue it. Thanks for your help!!!

Answer
Helen, you didn't mention how many leaves were on the plant, but, if you have at least three undamaged leaves, you can cut the damaged leaves off below the damage.  Otherwise, you can leave the split leaves on the plant as is and they will still photosynthesize.
