Dangers of house plants

Question
Hi I was wondering if it's dangerous to sleep in a dorm room where I have 5 plants, which includ a Spider plant, a Swedish Ivy, a Calla Lily and something else.
Thanks

Answer
Hi Carolyn,

The notion that plants "steal" oxygen from the air at night is a popular myth that has no scientific validity. In fact, over the course of a full day, plants use carbon dioxide that we exhale and produce oxygen that we breath. It is a wonderfully symbiotic relationship that allows plants and animals to live together on this planet.

Also, your plants have the additional benefit of helping to remove some air borne pollutants from the air.

So the more plants you have, the healthier you will be. Sleep in peace!

Please let me know if any of this is unclear or if you have any additional questions.
