Peace Plant.

Question
I have had a peace plant for over 5 years now.  I have repotted it once.  Are you suppose to repot them often?  The pot now is full again and not much soil just roots.  Can I brake it apart and make two or three plants out of it without hurting it.  How much sun is it to have.

Answer
Hi Barb
It sounds as if you have a very healthy Peace Plant, aka 'Spathillyum' and you are doing everything right!  There is no problem with breaking the plant apart and putting into separate pots.  Just look carefully at the root system and do not break apart the main roots from the main plant.
Peace Lily's take a bright, indirect lighting.  If it is in front of a window, make sure there is some type of a protection, curtain, etc. to keep the plant from getting burned.
Good Luck Barb!
Leslie
