Cornstalk too tall

Question
Tallest of 3 cornstalks in a 13" pot is hitting the ceiling.  Can I lop it off near the base and hope it will start over?  Any special techniques?

Answer
Hi Roland,

As long as the roots and stem are healthy, then you can prune it back to any height. New growth will emerge in a about a month just below where you made the cut and it will grow up from there. Use sharp pruners to make a clean cut.

The top portion can be rooted at the base of the plant or in water.

Please let me know if any of this is unclear or if you have any additional questions.
