Gardenias dying.

Question
Hello there...what type of nutrients the gardenias needs. I live in SE Florida and I have some gardenias in my back yard and their leaves are turning brown and falling. They have been planted for more than a year. Any ideas?

Answer
Hi there,

This is really not a houseplant, but a gardening question because you are growing it outside. However, I can tell you that high humidity and acidic soil (5.0 pH) are important for maintaining gardenias successfully. In addition, they do not tolerate dry soil.

Please let me know if any of this is unclear or if you have any additional questions.
