repotting peace lilies

Question
I have 2 large peace lilies that I have repotted from smaller to larger pots and they keep getting larger and larger.  The roots appear to be one large ball, is there any way I can divide this ball resulting into smaller, more manageable pots and plants?  They are both 8 years in age, and because of sentimental value, I don't want to kill them.  Thanks for your help!

Answer
These plants grow like weeds no matter what you do to them.

I would get a sharp knife or pair of sissors and seperate that way.  Sometimes taking the plant outside and running water over the roots helps you better see what roots belong where.  Try to get as many roots with each section as possible.  You may loose some of it but it sounds like you can spare it.  You could have a house full of these babies in no time.

Happy Growing
Kristina
