vining houseplant

Question
I inherited a plant that I am trying to save.  I need to identify it first and then any information would be helpful.  It is vinig houseplant that is a series of running stems with small (1/4"-3/8") roundish, thick, leaves.  The leaves are a pale green and very pale lilac color that grow in pairs (one on either side of the stem).  I removed all of the dried up stems and put the remaining stems in water where they plumped up again.  When they looked like they were going to root, I put them in a pot of Miracle grow potting soil and watered it well.  It is not progressing well and I can't find a photo of it anywhere to identify it.

Answer
Amy,

I suspect that your plant is Ceropegia woodii commonly known as String of Hearts plant. The 2 sites below have more information.

I would suggest that you water the pot that they came out of and water the soil. There is a good chance that the roots will send out new shoots. This is a succulent plant and will grow better in dryer soil than wet soil or water. Good luck.
