houseplant jasmine..

Question
I was gone for a week and my jasmine did not get a drink  during that time..now it is losing alot of leaves...it bloomed nicely this spring and is on a support about 5 ft tall, so certainly don't want to lose it...I have not repotted it since I have gotten it...several years ago..but is in a 12 inch pot..have misted and watered it, but has not helped yet...HELP!  and thank you for any suggestions..
I have a smaller one I took outside this spring and it is doing fine..and recently bloomed

Answer
Hi Jane,

That is a very large Jasmine! I am surprised that it could not go a week without water since it is in a fairly large pot.

Jasmine will drop leaves when it gets too dry. The leaf drop will continue for a short while after it is watered, so some patience is required. There is nothing that you can do other than what I am sure you are already doing, which is to be sure to keep the soil moist in the future.

Repotting will not help and will discourage flowering, so don't do that. Misting is fine, but it will have no effect on the temporary leaf drop that it is experiencing.

Please let me know if any of this is unclear or if you have any additional questions.
