Lavender indoors

Question
I am looking for a type of lavender that will do well indoors and not be the type that will grow too large. Can you recommend a lavender for indoors and let me know what the light and water requirements are.

Answer
Susan,

Lavendar is, at best difficult to grow indoors without a greenhouse or sun room. It needs full sun all day long and needs to be planted in sandy cactus soil with a teaspoon of lime added to each pot of soil. For water it needs to be well watered and 2 hours later the drain pot needs to be emptied. Then it does not get watered again until it is bone dry and the pot feels light weight when you pick it up.

Good luck,
Darlene
