droopy peace lily

Question
i recently repotted my large lily (2ft) into a roomier pot. i did this in a warm room since its 20 degrees outside. and noticed almost immediately that the strong leafs have turned soft, limp and extremely sad looking. it was but back into its usual sunny location so i'm scared i killed the roots! is this a possibility? also this plant is 2 yrs. old and has never had flowers.

Answer
Hi Gayla,

Peace lilies have fairly fragile root systems that don't like to be disturbed. Repotting can be quite traumatic for them, but as long the roots are healthy and the repotting was done properly, then yours should recover with a week or so. If it does not, then that suggests the roots were damaged during the repotting.

You didn't say why you repotted. If the plant was ailing and that was the reason you repotted, then the repotting has probably aggravated the problem.

Also, you should know that peace lilies need to be quite rootbound to flower, so yours is not likely to flower in the near future now that you have repotted.
