Rubber tree brown spots

Question
Hi. I've had my rubber tree for about 2 years. I've recently noticed that the little, brown, snail looking bugs are all over my newly forming and old leaves have gotten a lot worse. I've noticed some of the pouches or cocoons (?) are now empty, but I don't see any bug's crawling on the leaves or steams? Also, none of the leaves are dying or being eaten away???  I can send you some pictures if that would help? I looked up scales on the internet, but it didn't seem to fit or Mealy bugs since there's no white cotton stuff. Please help, thanks. Debbie

Answer
Hi Debbie,

Scales are the only plant pests that seem to fit your description. There are different types of scales and they look different at different stages. But it would be best if you could email some clear photos to me at [email protected].

Do you keep your rubber tree indoors?
