Is Hindu Rope plant Toxic for dogs?

Question
My 10 week old black lab puppy chewed the leaf on my Hindu rope plant (Hoya carnosa 'Hummel's compacta').  No one is able to tell me if this plant is toxic for dogs.  Would you know?

Answer
Hi Lynn,

The ASPCA is the best source of information on plants toxic to pets. They do no list Hoyas among their toxic plants so I think it is safe to assume your lab will be okay. The ASPCA site is at
