ants in spider plants

Question
what is the ratio of white vinegar?  do you use it straight from a spray bottle?  Thanx...linda

Answer
Hi Linda,

Don't use vinegar of any color to treat the ants. Vinegar is acidic and will change the pH of the soil. If the soil becomes too acidic, then the nutrients will no longer be available to the plant. You may get rid of the plants using vinegar, but you will also slowly lose the plant.

It is better to plunge the pot up to its rim in plain water and let it sit for 30 minutes. This will drive the ants up and out of the soil in search of air.

Please let me know if any of this is unclear or if you have any additional questions.
