QuestionOk. So I would like to have some help identifying a plant that was given to me. This plant has a story. My close friend used to have a very large house. One of the many rooms he has, he used for storage. Well, this plant somehow on accident ended up in there, and was forgotten. It lived in that room (which didn't have much light) and wasn't watered for a little over a year. AND IT DIDN'T DIE! It actually kind of...flourished. When my friend stated to move, and found the pant, he gave it to me. It is a very strange plant. It has some little spiny things, that it drops, and if they land in another plant's pot, it takes over...quickly. It also grows very quickly.
I will give you some picture that i uploaded to my photobucket.

We call it the "alien plant". We would love any input at all to help identify it!
Thank you!

AnswerHi Jenn,
Your plant is a type of Kalanchoe. It is a succulent that can withstand drought, although a year without water certainly is pushing the envelope! It's unusual gangly look is because it has received less than ideal light and because it has never been pruned. It certainly is a most interesting looking plant!
Please let me know if any of this is unclear or if you have any additional questions.
