QuestionMy Spath seems pretty healthy but a few of the lower leaves have started to turn yellow. What causes this?
AnswerHi Cindy,
It is normal for plants to drop leaves as part of the natural aging process. The leaves that turn yellow and drop off due to aging are usually older leaves towards the bottom of the plant. As long as the plant is not losing new leaves or dropping leaves in great numbers, it is usually not a cause for concern.
Other than natural aging, a few of the most common causes of yellowing leaves are improper watering, improper light levels, drafts and insects.
I hope this helps. If you have any questions or need additional information please don't hesitate to ask.
Thanks
Tracy
