Scorched Dracaeana

Question

MY BABY
I have a corn planbt that is over 25 years old- it has grown up with mykids - it is literally one of my babies. The tips were getting brown on the ends and I decided after many years to transplant it to a new, larger pot. I live in Phoenix AZ and  after transplanting and watering, I left it on my patio overnite. My baby has albut died and I am just devastated. Her leaves are just scorched and withering and I don't know what to do. Can I save my "other" baby??? Please help me.

Answer
Dear Cookie,

I know just how you feel.  25 years is a long long time to have nurtured your plant.  If it were mine I would cut off any leaves which are past saving, support the plant on a bamboo cane, place in a protected place with light but no sun and draughts, water it but no feeding until it has recovered which I very much hope it will in time.  Your plant has received a severe shock and needs some TLC which I am sure you will give it.

If the worst happens then you could take some stem cuttings and grow new plants.

Let me know what happens please.

Good Luck

Diana
