tree that folds leaves

Question
I have a tree that just popped up in a rose clipping I had planted. It is now 5 feet high. This tree from the beginning, has each leaf on it's stem that fold up in the evening and reopen every morning. It looks like a jacaranda...however it now has blooms that look like small bursts of little white balls.
I can not find anything on the internet that comes close. Can you help me identify this tree?

Answer

You have a  Mimosa or Silk Tree. The Scientific Name: Albizia julibrissin. It likes Full Sun - USDA - Zones: 6b thru 9. The Mimosa can withstand droughts beautiful pink or white spike blooms at top. Can grow up to 30ft. tall and sometimes wider. Excellent shade tree. You must live in the south.  Enjoy you mimosa tree. Good luck.
