Anthurium and Dracaena fragans Massangeana

Question
Hi
I have a Anthurium which I have recently bought and repotted and believe it is in the correct position in my house ie sufficient lighting etc.  I also have a Dracaena Fragans Massangeana which is living but not really growing so I believe it needs more light. I need to swap the two around but don't want to compromise my Anthrium of light it needs to thrive, I guess my question is, which one needs more light out of the two or do they both require about the same.  I just have nowhere else suitable in my house I could move it to.
Thanks

Answer
Samantha,

The anthurium needs a bit more light than the dracaena. The dracaena needs to be sitting in a location that is bright enough that your hand will make a light shadow there. If there is not ennough light you need to put a flourescent light on the plant and have it on 14 hours a day. It can be a flourescent bulb in a floor lamp. They do not raise your electric bill by a lot and you can put it on a timer to go on and off on it's own. Make sure both plants are not sitting with drain trays full of water that will rot the roots or in pots without drain holes and drain trays. They need to dry out between waterings so they are not constantly wet. They are not swamp plants. Good luck.
