HELP! Burnt Palm Tree

Question
I am not sure of the kind of Palm I have.....It looks like an outdoor palm, but I keep it inside....it's about 6 feet tall.
The Palm is 35 years old....
I made a huge mistake and fertilized it at the trunk.
It has since burned and I have cut off the palm leaves.
I flushed it with water, but this was about two months ago.
The trunk seems healthy.
I am wondering if it will ever come back to life?  Is there anything I can do to save it?  Should I repot it?

Answer
Mindi,

No, do not repot it, that would complicate the problems. Set the palm outside in full sun. That may encourage it to sprout leaves. Water it lightly so it is barely moist but not wet. If it has not grown any sprouts by fall it is probably hopeless but you might want to keep it until spring. It can sometimes take a year for a damaged plant to resprout. You just have to be patient. Good luck!
