Jade plant & Swedish Ivy

Question
(house plants) My Swedish ivy has very tiny leaves and I've been trying to figure out what's wrong with it. It's also been happening on my jade plant. The older, existing leaves of the jade plant are normal size 2-3 inches long, but any new leaves are remaining extremely small. I've never seen anything like it. I can send/post a photo if necessary.

Answer
Hi Sue,

The likely cause is that the plants are now receiving less light than they did in the nursery where the older leaves were grown. Plants can survive in less than optimum light, but they adapt by producing fewer and smaller leaves when they are in reduced light.

Both of your plants do best if given at least several hours of direct indoor sunlight each day.

I have written detailed articles on light and on Jade Plant care that I will email for free to you (or anyone else) who emails a request to me at [email protected]. I have also written an indoor plant care book in a PDF format that I can sell you if you contact me at my email address.

Please let me know if any of this is unclear or if you have any additional questions.
