black leaves on ivy plant

Question
Will, my ivy 's leaves are turning black and wilting.  The plants have new green growth but I have noticed that the leaves are turning black.  Sometimes only 1/2 of the leaf turns black.  This is not just affecting one plant but several in my collection.  Help!!
Joan

Answer
Hi Joan,

It sounds like you may have a fungal disease - either powdery mildew or possibly botrytis. Have you noticed any other symptoms, such as light white powder on any of the leaves?

Improper watering could also be a problem.

What kind of light do your ivies receive?

Can you send me some photos? That would help me understand the problem better. My address is [email protected].

Please include your original question with the photos.

Thanks,
Will Creed
