The best organic fertilizer is a liquid seaweed&fish or liquid fish fertilizer. Try health food store like Fresh Fields or home Depot. Feed every 3 weeks and keep the flowers cut off to give more production. You can also use a manure fertilizer around it, but water it well. Pot must be large since basil is a fast grower and will outgrow it. A 5 gallon container is not too deep. Make sure it gets the morning sun and evening shade.
