white stuff on dill plants

Question
After a couple of weeks of planting my dill seedlings, they are covered by white stuff.  I can rub them with fingers but it's hard to wash off.  Are they safe to eat? What can I do so my newly growing ones do not get those whitish stuff?

Answer
Ichiyo:
I would try a homemade formula.  1 tblsp. of rubbing alcohol, 1 tblsp. hot sauce to 1 qt. of water in a spray bottle. Spray 1 leaf to see if it burns after a day. If so, dilute by 1/3 & spray again every 3 days until it disappears. Then wash & use.

Good luck.

ps. Go to website call gardens alive.com They have all organic pesticides.
