Dill plant - pruning and drying

Question
I have never grown an herb before, but I bought a dill plant at a chain store and no on there knew the answer - if you are plan on drying the leaves and storing them, do you cut the top 1/3 off then the leave to try then take off the leaves, or do you take the leaves off right away and just dry them.

Any assistance you could provide would be greatly appreciated!

Answer
Kathryn:
This may be the regular dill which sometimes go to seed quickly. Cut 1/3 at a time and place in paper bag with holes on sides. Hang in an airy area & shake for a couple of minutes twice weekly. When completely dried, place in a glass container & store. Keep out of direct sun light.
