Skyrocket Junipers (Juniperus Scopulorum)

Question
I plan to plant four Skyrocket Junipers about 2.5 feet from my house.  I live in
the Okanagan area of British Columbia.   The tag says the average size will be
10ft high by 2.5 ft wide.  Do they have an aggressive root system and is there
any danger they will damage the drainage tile and/or the house?  We previously
had cedars growing about the same distance from the house with no damage.
Thank you for your help.

Answer
These will not have a roots system that is a problem. Roots normally will extent about twice the areas as the foliage and if these are 2 1/2 feet wide at maturity then the roots may reach 5 feet out. These will be small fibrous roots and will not cause a problem. The ones that will go toward your house will stop at the foundation and not cause a problem. Sounds like a good choice to plant in that space.
