sod

Question
I layed sod two weeks ago without preparing soil and the first cutting was done at the end of the second week. The grass looked beautiful and very green. Now that the cut was done brown hay like texture is in certain areas mainly the edges. I just found out that the cutting should've occurred after the first week. I spoke with the sod farm and was advised to use a 1/2 rate time released fertilizer and it should come back. I am unable to find this fertilizer anywhere. Could you please guide me in correcting these spots along with any information as to where I could possibly find this fertilizer?

Answer
Most nurseries should have the fertilizer, many lawn professionals use a company called Lesco. They specialize in lawn care products and will have the fertilizer you want. Here is the web link to their location page. http://www.lesco.com/prodcatalog/storefinder.aspx
Since I do not know your location you will have to click on the location nearest you.

Water should bring the green back also. The fertilizer will make it green up faster (make sure you water after the fertilizing).
