Nepenthes (Asian pitcher plant)

Question
Hi, I'm really thankful for all the answers you have given me before, it has helped me a lot.  But something else just not sprung up.  I have three small Nepenthes plants ranging from 3-5 inches in diameter that I bought brom various stores.  One is in good shape with light green and firm leaves and it's on its way to produce pitchers.  The second one is dark green and the leaves look wilted.  The third one is between both of the other two plants' conditions.  I've had them for a while and it doesnt look like the other two are getting better.  Any suggestions?

Answer
Hi Matt,

Whether or not your plants make it depends heavily on how they were cared for prior to your purchase.  We've done rescue missions before, but even under our expert care, some plants don't make it because they were far too unhealthy when we got them.  Some plants will hang in there for several months and croak, while others pull through just fine.

The only thing I can suggest is to continue growing them in optimal growing conditions.  Give them lots of light and water.  Avoid using any sort of foliar spray (fertilizer) on them while they are in a weakened state.  Only time will tell.  Again, whether your plants make it or not mostly depends on how weak they were when you first got them. Fortunately you got one that was healthy enough to pull through quickly.

Good growing!
