Queensland Sundew--dormancy and repotting

Question
I live in the Portland, OR area and purchased a Queensland Sundew (D. Prolifera) from Sarracenia NW some months ago. It's in a south-facing window and still in the same 3" pot with the same soil mix as when I bought it.
Does this sundew require a dormancy period? Also when is the best time to repot it and what pot size do you recommend for maximum growth?
Thanks!

Answer
Hi Eric,

No, this species doesn't require a winter dormancy.  It will, however, slow down in growth during the winter months in response to lower light levels.  In spring, when the light levels are stronger and much longer, your plant will produce an abundance of flower stalks.

You can repot the plant into a larger pot any time of the year.  If you want to make sure it produces lots of plantlets, repot it now before it bursts into growth in spring.  That way you will give your plant lots of room to spread out.  Use a mix of 1 part peat moss and 1 part perlite.

Good growing!
