Re-potting my VFTs

Question
I just received the VFT trio (dent, red,VFT) from you. Arrived in fine shape. When I repot them into 1 pot should I use plastic or does it matter? Do I leave the root ball in the pot intact?

Answer
Hi Tim,

Because you'll be growing the plants outdoors, use a plastic pot.  Plastic pots retain moisture better and are not prone to cracking during winter.  Terracotta pots don't retain moisture, and glazed ceramic pots sometimes cracks during hard freezes.

When unpotting your plants keep the soil around the roots intact.  Avoid disturbing the root system too much.  However, don't worry about this too much because it's still early in the season and your plants will have time to recover.  If you were to do this in late summer, then you'll need to be extra careful with the roots.
