re-potting a fiscus plant

Question
i recently re-potted my fiscus tree, i cut the roots back, and put in a bigger pot, the leafs are turning yellow, and dropping off a lot, what to do

Answer
Annetta,

You severely shocked it. You either cut the roots back and put it back in the same pot or you do not cut the roots back and put it in a larger pot. You should not do both. I suggest that you move it back to a smaller pot and move it to the sunniest location possible. The sun will help a lot. Also make sure you empty the drain tray an hour after you water the plant so it is not sitting in a tray of water. Sitting in water will cause the roots that are left to rot. Be patient it will come back as long as you don't overwater it. Good luck.
