hurricane

Question
I don抰 know if you heard but there is a tropical storm heading for NC that might become a hurricane and I live in fayettville. What do I do to protect my plants during a possible hurricane and the pitchers of my Judith Hindle will be coming soon.

Answer
Hi Jesus,

If you only have a few plants just bring them into a garage or similar shelter until the bulk of the storm passes.  The biggest danger is the heavy rain that might wash all the soil out of your pots.  I'm watching The Weather Channel as I write this, and it sounds like Hanna won't be quite as strong as first thought.  Also, you're inland a ways which will moderate conditions some.

Even if the leaves of your plants received some damage, they bounce back from this very well.  Just replace any lost soil and clip off any damaged leaves.

Good Growing!
