Safe fungicide for cephs?

Question
I am receiving ceph seeds and I'd like to know if Spectracide Immunox would be safe to use. I've heard that Orthene or Orthenex is ok but I can't find it in stores, even in my local nursery! What's your opinion?
thanks

Answer
Hi Marian,

I don't have any experience with Immunox on carnivorous plants, so I can't give you a recommendation regarding this product.  For carnivorous plant seeds, we prefer to use a sulfur-based fungicide.  It's safe on all types of carnivorous plants, especially seeds and seedlings.  Other types of fungicides may be useful, but when it comes to seeds and seedlings, we always recommend to use the the mildest form of fungicides as possible.

When the plant is mature, you can use the stronger forms of fungicides, such as Daconil and Neem oil.  We've tested these compounds on carnivorous plants, and they appear to be safe.  We will also test Immunox and Orthonex on some test plants.  After that, we can provide a recommendation.

Good growing!
