healthy drosera aliciae?

Question

Two alice sundews
Hi. I recently received a pot with two alice sundews. One is slightly more red (to the left) and the other is more green. I'm not sure if they're still dormant or not (how can you tell? Dew droplets?). I always thought that red was an indication of good health but, ever since I got the plant out of the box and into the sun, so far three leaves on the greener one have started producing dew droplets, whereas the redder one hasn't. Does this mean anything?

Also, you can see in the picture that the redder one has one little leaf which is a little folded upside. This picture was taken a week ago, and at that point, the whole leaf was green/healthy looking. Now, the base of that leaf is dark brown and doesn't look that hot. Should I be worried?

They sit on the corner window (inside) getting east and south-east light all morning. I live in Belgium, where it was very sunny until a week ago, it's been rainy and dreary ever since, with the sun making little apparitions today. They are sitting in mineral free water in a basin they are sharing with two pots of venus flytraps. Both sundew plants have flower stalks coming out of their centers, both of which are growing at a steady pace.

I'm not really sure if the little things at the center of each alice is supposed to be growing outwards or shriveling inwards...

Thanks for any help!

Answer
Hi Michol,

The most important things right now are time and patience.  You just received your plant, and sometimes it takes up to 2 weeks for sundews to fully recover from the shipping process.  As long as the plant is in the appropriate sunlight and is getting lots of water, it will eventually recover and start producing dew again.

Overall, your plant looks very healthy, and I don't see any signs that would make me think otherwise.  So give your plant time.  With patience and proper care, your plant will grow into a beautiful specimen.

Good growing!
