Nepenthes Shock? And Butterwort Flower fell off..

Question
http://www.flickr.com/photos/brandonbebout/3546211915/sizes/m/

Hi,
This is my Nepenthes I got from a death cube about 10 days ago, it was doing well until a few days ago I noticed the smaller pitcher started to rot, and then the larger one started about 2 days ago. I just wanted to make sure its just normal transplant shock. I have it in the right soil, I don't think its been too watered.

Also my butterwort flower fell off a few days ago, I tried to self pollinate about a week ago. I just wanted to make sure this was normal also.

Thanks much,
Brandon

Answer
Hi Brandon,

Both plants look fine.  Pitchers last for only a couple months.  After that they slowly dry up.  Clip the pitcher off near the tip of the leaf.  The rest of the plant looks fine.

Your butterwort will produce more flowers throughout the growing season.  It too looks healthy.  Give both plants time to acclimate to their new home.  Sometimes it can take a month, depending on how the plants were grown prior your purchase.
