Vacation trip

Question
We will be getting ready to go on a short trip in Dec. We will be leaving on a Wed and be home on a Friday. If I water the plants on Wed morning before we leave. will the watering be fine until we get home Friday evening/night

My other question is about light. They will get a little light threw the blinds and curtains when we are gone but no direct light for those days will they be fine with this? We live in a complex so with that said We don't want people to know we are not home..Thanks

Answer
Hi Juanita,

Yes, your plant will be fine for those few days.  As I recall, you grow Nepenthes.  If so, before going on your trip, soak the pot and soil in a bowl of water for about 10 minutes.  You're going to saturate the soil.  Pull the pot out of the water and allow it to drain in your sink for a few minutes.  After that, place it back by the window.

The plant will be fine there for a few days.  We ship these plants all over the country, so they can tolerate a few days of complete darkness.

Good growing!
