Leaning Nepenthes

Question

Nepenthes Sang.
Hello

I have a Nepenthes Sang. and I think it's a Nepenthes. Gal. not sure how you spell the whole thing but it was purchased from Cobraplants.  The question I had was is there anyway to fix/support the plant because the plants are leaning over.

*The picture I'm attaching from here is the Nepenthes Sang. it may not look like it's leaning much but it really is.  The link is the picture of the Nepenthes Gal.? it is easy to tell that it's leaning.*

Answer
Two things you could do.  The first is to simply leave it alone.  This is a common feature with Nepenthes, and many times the vine gets long and hangs over the pot.  In this case you can grow the plant in a hanging pot.

The second is to stake your plant with bamboo or plastic stakes.  You can find them at your garden center.  Orchid growers also use these stakes to support their flower stalks.

Review the repotting sections of the Nepenthes DVD, Volume 3.  We show examples of both hanging pots and stakes.

Good growing!
