drosera capensis outside?

Question
Can drosera capensis be put outside in the summer?

Answer
Hi Craig,

Yes, they can.  The best location would be one with lots of morning sun, but some shade in the afternoon.  They like lots of sun, but grow better if they are a little cooler in temperature.  Go easy when you first put them outside; you will probably experience some leaf burn until they grow a new set adapted to the stronger light.  Also, D. capensis would be considered a zone 9 plant, so they can tolerate a light frost, but not hard freezes.

Good Growing!
