fertilizing cobra lily seedlings

Question
I have some cobra lily seedlings (coastal plain variety) that are a few months old and I was wanting to fertilize them...would it hurt them to spray them with a dilute mixture of Miracid...say 3/4 or 1 tsp to a gallon of RO water? Or, since they  are still very young plants, would it be best to leave them alone for the time being??

Regards,

Derick

Answer
I haven't used Miracid myself, but based on reports from other growers, I'd avoid using it.  Growers who have used it didn't like the results.  It could be the results of the particular type of inorganic salts used in the product.

Regular Miracle Grow is better, but orchid fertilizers with urea-free nitrogen is best.  Use only 1/4 tsp per gallon, and spray no more than once weekly.  Flush the soil monthly to avoid nutrient buildup.

Good growing!
