Volunteer sundew in a sarracenia pot

Question

Mystery sundew
I just discovered today that I have what appears to be a drosera rotundifolia growing in a sarracenia leucophylla pot I purchased from your nursery in July.  Can you provide me with positive identification on the plant and some advice on when would be the best time to transplant it into its own pot?  I live here in Oregon.

Answer
Hi John,

Yes, that is D. rotundifolia.  Wait until it goes dormant this winter, then transplant it.  If you can put this plant with some live sphagnum it will be very happy.

Good Growing!
