Unidentified Nepenthes
Hi-
I was wondering if you could help me to identify the parentage of this plant. I think that it might be Nepenthes truncata x veitchii, but I am not a very experienced Nepenthes grower.
Thanks!

Answer
Hi Jack,

This could very well be a truncata x veitchii hybrid, by Nepenthes hybrids are very difficult to identify, and there are so many complex hybrids floating around out there.  The leaf and pitcher shape definitely show truncata, but the other parent(s) could be many things.

Here's a better resource since I'm not quite as good at this:  http://lhnn.proboards.com/  The best Nepenthes people around are on this board, and the moderator/creator is the owner of Leilani Hapu'u Nepenthes nursery.  Your plant may have even originally come from them, so it might be recognized right away.

Good Growing!
