Sarracenia
Hi! I bought two carnivorous plants here in Sweden! I wonder if you can help me what variety it is. I know it is a Nephentes and a Sarracenia but not not more than that (maybe hybrids?), and I want to know so I can take care of them right. Got 'em abut 2 weeks ago.

Answer
Hi Melinda,

The Nepenthes looks like a Ventrata of some type (Nepenthes ventricosa x alata).  DeRoose Plants in The Netherlands sells starts and grown plants of these, and they are very common in the plant trade.

The Sarracenia looks like a species, Sarracenia rosea.  This plant also used to be know as Sarracenia purpurea venosa var. burkii.  They tend to grow big and fuzzy.  Keep water in its pitchers to help it catch bugs.

Good Growing!
