Sarracenia and Nepenthes question

Question
Hi
I live in San Diego Ca, and Have two questions for you. First is regarding my N. Ventrata I have purchased from your nursery. By far a great plant arrive very healthy. I haven't changed the pot or anything but I have it hanging in a west window, actually slightly south west facing. My concern is the will it harm the plant if a couple of the leaves are touching the window, so far has not harmed it what so ever.
My second question is I have been searching on the Internet for a S. leucophylla "Hurricane Creek White" but haven't been successful. I really would like this plant and was wondering if you know of anywhere I can find this plant. I would like to buy it from your nursery but right know anywhere would be fine. I am willing to pay any reasonable price for this plant. Thanks again.

Answer
Hi Justin,

It wouldn't harm the plant if leaves were touching the window.  You might notice localized leaf burn where the leaf touches the window, but overall, your plant will still be healthy.  Sometimes it's just unavoidable having leaves touch the window if you want to make sure the plant gets adequate sunlight.  It's better to sacrifice a couple leaves than to have the entire plant growing in insufficient light.

We don't have the Hurricane Creek White cultivar, but we have a couple similar to it, Schnell's Ghost and the true all green variety.  Both plants, however, grow very slowly, so we haven't had much progeny from them over the years.  We might be releasing a few of the all green variety, but not until late summer.  As always, the demand for them greatly exceeds what we can produce.

Good growing!
