how to save a potted evergreen tree

Question
I recieved a potted evergreen tree it looks like some sort of pine tree. I do not know where it came from.  I overwatered to the point of several inches of water standing in the pot.  I have the plant inside my house.  I took the outer pot/basket off with plastic lining and would like to repot the plant.  Needles are falling of and the ends are curling down, what should I do?

Answer
It maybe too late but you can try- take the plant out of the pot and remove most of the wet soil from the roots. Be careful not to damage the roots and wash out the pot. Replace the soil in the pot with potting soil and replant the tree. Moisten the soil but do not over wet it. Water about once a week. Good luck!
