spray

Question
Hi have not sprayed anything on my apples since dormant, now its flower time.what should i spray on petal fall to strengthen remaining apples as here we are experiencing cold temperature for apples.can i spray gibbleric acid on petal fall or else.

Answer
Dear Vivek, At petal fall you should spray with sulfur and BT to help control pests and diseases, and then spray again 7-10 days later.  You can also begin weekly kaolin clay spraying at this time.  As soon as the fruit sets, spray with sulfur spray or Bordeaux if you have signs of disease and then spray every 14 days as the fruit develops.  Also at fruit set, you can spray with pyrethrum or other organic insecticide for pests, and spray that every 14 days as well.  Be sure to stop spraying 30 days before the expected harvest. I hope this information helps, but write back if you have more question.  I'm sorry for the late response.  I am answering your other question now.  Good luck, Melissa
