Web worms in Fruitless Mulberry Tree

Question
I have a Fruitless Mulberry tree in Dallas, Texas that is at least 45 years old and healthy as it can be.  It has had small infestations of web worms every year that did little damage. I cut out those I could reach and ignored the rest as they seemed to go away on their own. This year my tree is full of webs and the worms are dropping out like snow flakes. They are covering my roof, yard, the neighbor's roof and yard as well as climbing every vertical surface they can find - walls, trees, chairs, cars, etc. - making our lives miserable.  What can I do to get rid of the worms and prevent new webs from being formed? Does my tree need some first aid to help it, or will it recover on its own? We were told to expect it to die 20 years ago since it is a "trash tree", but it keeps on going and we would like to help it as much as we can.  Thanks for any advice you can give me.

Answer
Hi How r u?You r going to need 2 treat tree with a spray of premethrin which will knock them down asap.U can spray yourself or have a tree company do it 4 a fee of about 100$.U can treat tree b4 with a systemic  insecticide next spring that will prevent this from getting out of control.I would have a ARBORIST handle this.Just don't let them eat all the leaves. The more they eat the more stress on tree ,and chance of recover is less!!!!GOOD luck!!!KEEP POSTED!!!
