Aspen Tree Pests

Question
Our 15 year-old aspen tree has tiny, white insect eggs massed on the underside and top side of MANY leaves.  The tree leaves and deck below also have a sticky "honey" on them.  Are the tiny eggs related to the honey and what should we do?  Last year the tree had black leaf fungus, but it shows no signs this year.

Answer
Hey what up? It sounds like u have cotton scale which is a insect that sucks the leaves.U can treat this with a Horticultural oil which will suffocate the bug. What will happen as it go s on u will get black mold fungus on the tops of the leaf from the scale bug droppings!!Treat it and retreat in 4 weeks.U will find the oil at HOMEDEPOT/LOWES TYPE STORE!!GOOD LUCK!!!KEEP ME POSTED!!
