Aloe Vera with spots....

Question
I have had Aloe Vera growing in my Garden for years and never had a problem, but now the leaves have what looks like black spot(like you would get on roses) all over them and the tips of the leaves are wilting and turning brown. Do you know what it is and how I can get rid of it? Thanks

Answer
Aloe is susceptible to bacterial and fungal leaf spots, especially if there has been a lot of rainfall and cloudy days in recent history.  I would treat the plants with Hi-Yield Brand Copper Fungicide.  This product is effective against both fungi and bacteria and is safe to use.  It is an organically approved product.  You will need to re-treat in 7-10 days.  Then I would sit back and see if the spots get bigger or increase in number.  If you see this happening then you will need to treat again.  If possible you can remove some of the worse looking stems and destroy them away from the other plants.  I hope this helps fix the problem.  Good Luck.
