Substance on Waxleaf Ligustrum

Question
What could be a web-like substance on the branches of our Waxleaf Ligustrum.  It is almost like a white film that covers the branches with a green moldy substance underneath.  The tree is probably 20 years old and over 15 feet tall.  The leaves are falling off the branches and not growing back.  It looks like this disease or pest is killing our tree.

Answer
Sounds like powdery mildew.  The lugustrum usually has a defense for this but it sounds like your tree is not working as it should probably from a nutritional imbalance.  There are many pesticides that will eliminate the problem but do nothing for the trees health.  There is a new product on the market that will clean this off your tree and bring it back to health quite quickly.

Product name is Atomic Grow and you can get some from www.crowleynursery.net  nursery tab.

Good luck

James
