Red Emperor Japanese Maple Dying?

Question
I planted an 8 foot tall Red Emperor JP this spring.  It has now lost all of the red color to the leaves.  They are a green/yellow color.  I am in Calif. and this tree does get the afternoon sun. Is it dying or just stressed?? too much h2o or not enough?  It was beautiful when planted!
Thank you

Answer
Carrie:
I don't think your tree is dying.  Some JMs have different colored foliage during the spring and fall- it depends on the variety. You can check with the nursery about its color. Just make sure it is watered properly and fertilized according to a soil test.

Steve
