peach tree scales

Question
Hello,
I live in the new jersey.
I have 2 peach trees that have been afflicted by scales for quite some time. The damage is on most of the branches including the trunk. It is badly peeling,is it possible to heal this? Are the shells from the insects currently on the tree dead leftover from last year or do they over winter on the tree like this? also, is there a natural treatment available for this problem? We sprayed with oil last spring but it didn't seem to do much. My instincts are telling me these 15 year old dwarf peach trees may be in too bad shape to heal. All advice on this matter is welcome, thank you for any help you can give!

Answer
Hi Kathleen, Peach trees live for 15 to 20 years.  It may still have life in it.  I would check out Atomic Grow which is organic and will help possibly to give your tree a few more years of good peach production, making it healthy once again. Also if the trunk is peeling could it be getting too much water?  kathy
